- Guides and Porters: Trained Park guides accompany every group, and porters are available to carry personal belongings for a fee.
- Trailhead: After a short drive from the headquarters, the hike starts at the foot of Mount Bisoke.
- Elevation Gain: The trail ascends approximately 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) from the starting point to the summit.
- Terrain: The trail varies from dense rainforest to alpine meadows, with sections of muddy and steep paths, especially after rain.
- Bamboo Zone: The lower part of the hike features lush bamboo forests, home to golden monkeys.
- Hagenia-Hypericum Zone: As you ascend, the vegetation changes to a mix of Hagenia and Hypericum trees, offering shelter and shade.
- Sub-Alpine Zone: Near the summit, the vegetation thins out, revealing rocky and moss-covered terrain.
